Horses of the Hunter Moon
It may have been in the 80’s the previous week, but winter hit hard in Northern Wyoming the last week of October. For 5 days temperatures stayed below freezing, even below zero at times with several snowstorms. Usually the first snowfall of the season quickly melts, but not this year. Snowy moonrises are my favorite. There is just something about the clean, crisp air. The warmth of the moon contrasts with the deep blues of twilight reflected in the snow. October's full moon is called the Hunter’s Moon. I went hunting for deer to capture under the moon on the edge of town. But none of them were on the right side of the road or close enough. Then I came across these 4 grazing horses and they made the shot instead.
