Early morning sunlight lights up the cliffs in Canyonlands National Park. This view is from Dead Horse Point, looking south into the canyon formed by the Colorado River 2000 feet below. The juniper tree in the foreground is a tough plant that survives the dry heat and cold of the desert. It can take decades for it to grow to even this small size.
